What is an on-grid solar system?+

An on-grid system is connected to the electricity grid and reduces your bill by offsetting daytime consumption. It does not provide backup during power cuts unless paired with storage.

What is the difference between string inverter and micro inverter?+

String inverters are cost-effective and standard for straightforward roofs. Micro inverters work better where shade, multiple orientations or module-level optimisation is important.

How do I know the right kW size for my house?+

Sizing depends on monthly consumption, future growth expectation, roof area and electrical conditions. Zolar Roof also provides a calculator based on 4 units/kW/day Kerala average generation.

What is a hybrid solar system?+

Hybrid systems combine solar with batteries and smart controls to offer both bill savings and backup capability.

Is solar worth it for low electricity bills?+

If present usage is very low, payback can stretch. Solar becomes more attractive when household consumption is expected to increase in future.

Who gets PM Surya Ghar subsidy?+

Eligible residential consumers under the PM Surya Ghar framework can avail subsidy subject to portal approval and project compliance.

How much subsidy is available?+

Projects up to 2kW typically receive ₹30,000 and 3kW & above residential systems can receive up to ₹78,000, subject to current scheme rules and portal approval.

How long does subsidy take to arrive?+

Can subsidy go to my savings bank account if I take a loan?+

Can vendors legally adjust my co-payment using subsidy later?+

Are there two solar loan products?+

Do I need income proof?+

No income proof is needed for the basic loan up to ₹2 lakh / 3kW. Basic income proof is needed above that.

Is 100% solar loan available?+

No. 10% or 20% co-payment is mandatory depending on the loan amount.

What is the maximum tenure?+

Up to 120 months for both products.

Is there processing fee or prepayment penalty?+

No processing fee and no prepayment penalty for these solar loan products under the supplied brief.

How long does installation take after first disbursement?+

Zolar Roof targets completion within 14 working days after receiving the first disbursement and customer co-payment.

Why is connected load important?+

KSEB can delay commissioning if actual connected load and declared connected load do not match. Customers should correct discrepancies before applying.

Will multi-storey or truss roof increase price?+

Yes. Base pricing applies to single-storey homes with minimum wiring. Additional complexity attracts extra cost according to site condition.

When are micro inverters recommended?+

Mostly where there is significant shadow factor or multiple roof orientations. Pricing is usually given only after site visit.

Who handles KSEB paperwork?+

Zolar Roof supports KSEB-related paperwork and portal updates, but customer-side compliance issues such as connected load mismatch remain customer responsibility.

What workmanship warranty does Zolar Roof provide?+

A 5-year comprehensive workmanship warranty limited to damages caused by workmanship.

Who handles component failure claims?+

OEMs / manufacturers handle component warranty claims. Zolar Roof can facilitate the process at its discretion.

How often should panels be cleaned?+

Cleaning frequency depends on dust, leaf fall and local conditions. Regular inspection helps sustain output.

Do you provide service after 5 years?+

Yes. Zolar Roof assures service support up to the 15th year within the response policy updated on the website.

What if my selected brand is unavailable later?+

You may wait for availability or choose another approved brand from the shared list. Brand availability changes quickly in the solar market.

Are all materials used as per MNRE guidelines?+
